Ed White is a perfect example of what can be accomplished through the chord teaching method. With no prior piano instruction, and no other musical background, Ed attended a pop-chord workshop, and six weeks later was able to play a simple version of “The Entertainer” on his keyboard. It should also be noted that Ed was 53 years old when he began and was working a minimum of 50 hours/week. He retired from his government job in 2006.
Since that first workshop, Ed has enthusiastically pursued his love of piano. About four years later, Ed began playing at the Methodist Hospital in northwest Houston as a volunteer at lunchtime, and professionally at several senior and assisted living apartments throughout the Houston area. He now has an extensive repertoire of songs he plays without the aid of sheet music.
Ed began teaching for Just ONCE Classes and Leisure Learning in 2010. He has conducted one-day workshops in College Station, Sam Houston State University, Alvin Community College, Lonestar Community College, Katy ISD, Bastrop ISD, as well as several other continuing education venues. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri, St. Louis, 1981 (B.S. Business).
